He was born in the village Baganchra (বাগআঁচড়া) under Sharsha (শার্শা) Upazila of Jessore District in 1968. He completed his primary education from Baganchra Govt. Primary School. He passed the SSC Exam from Baganchra United High School under Jessore Education Board with 11th position in the combined merit list of the Board (10th in Science Group). He also completed his HSC under the same education Board from Kalaroa Govt. College, Satkhira. He obtained his BA (Honours) in English in 1991 and Master’s degree (MA) in English in 1991 from the University of Rajshahi (exams held in 1993 & 1995 respectively).
