More than a decade after a “gate” connecting worlds appeared and superpowered “hunters” were awakened, the weakest hunter, Sung Jinwoo, encounters a double dungeon and accepts a mysterious quest. He becomes the only one who can progress, which changes his fate. A-1 Pictures has delivered again with “Solo Leveling: Awakening.” The fight scenes are breathtaking, and the seamless transition from Season 1 to Season 2 is perfectly executed. The animation quality is second to none, and the character designs are stunning. Combined with the exceptional sound design and impressive Japanese voice cast, it’s hard to imagine a better execution. I honestly thought they wouldn’t end Season 1 as well as they did, but they exceeded all expectations. This film builds on the hype for Season 2 and I’m so glad I got to experience it – it truly is a masterpiece.
